I cherish the day I finally decided to fork over the big bucks for the Spotify premium subscription. Why did I wait so long, suffering through the same songs and the same advertisements ad naseum on Pandora for so long? Spotify is just this magical world where it feels like the entire universe of music is at your fingertips. Sometimes I’m in the mood for a little throwback George Straight, other times I swing for a little Al Green. When I’m a little melancholy, I serenade myself with Etta James, but most of the time I listen to straight hip-hop. I’m not discriminatory in my love for almost all hip-hop. My queens are Beyonce, Rihanna and Nicki. I love their power, raw sexuality and breath-taking beauty. I also love Lil’ Wayne, Common, Talib Kweli, Drake, Ice Cube. All of ’em.
