My review of the Everlane Damn Good Denim: A YES for me, Bro

July 18, 2019

everlane denim jeans review size 32

I look at the photo above and I just laugh! I mean, come on. I know I am NO fashion blogger. I may not be Aimee Song, but I do know it’s hard to find a good pair of jeans so I feel morally obligated to share my pant knowledge with you.  I wrote a few months ago about wanting to try to Everlane denim and I finally pulled the trigger.

Guys, wow oh wow.

I bought the Authentic Stretch High-Rise Skinny Button Fly in ankle and these are the best jeans I think I’ve ever owned. I really love the way they fit. They have the perfect amount of stretch to them, the button fly is amazing, the length is juuuust right for me, the pockets are deep and comfortable and they wash really, really well. They also wear well all day long, no droopy butt here. Honestly, I love them to death and it makes me want to try out some of the other denim offerings they’ve launched in recent months like this and this.

Want to help me out? Use my referral code if you shop at everlane. I think it will give you some $$ off your first purchase and it gives me a nice $25 credit, too. That’s like, 1/3 of a pair of pants! 🙂

Do you have any other denim recos? I’m constantly on the hunt for good denim that costs less than a $100 bucks, which is surprisingly hard to find!

Contemplating the Everlane High Rise Skinny Jean

February 18, 2019

I’d like to take a moment to honor the madewell distressed black high rise button fly jeans that I wore at least once a week for an entire year. They have left this earth to meet their maker after I aggressively squatted in them to pack my suitcase and ripped them at the crotch. We had a good run and they are missed dearly. RIP.

I like Madewell, but I think their prices are a little ridic and it’s hard for me to find jeans from them that aren’t ripped/distressed so much that I can wear them to work. I’m not wanting to spend $140 on a pair of jeans right now, so I’m thinking the time is right for me to try Everlane’s denim. It’s gotten pretty rave reviews and I’m about to pull the trigger.  I’ve been a day 1 Everlane fan and I’m happy that they’re finally getting a little more inclusive in their sizing. They still have a long, long way to go, though. I also think that some of their recent releases have had me scratching my head, but I think I’m just an old now at 33 and don’t get what the kids like wearing anymore.

At any rate, I have to say that Alison Gary from Wardrobe Oxygen is wearing the heck out of those jeans in the photo above. I’m really hovering above the ‘add to bag’ button right now thanks to her.

Anyone tried the Everlane denim yet? Is it damn good???

What is it like to interview Serena effing Williams for the cover of Allure?

Dude. I’m a major, major fan of Ashley Ford, discovering her back in the day through Cup of Jo. I wrote about my love for her then and it endures.  I’ve read pretty much anything she’s written and have followed along on Instagram with great delight as she signed a book deal, killed it with fashion, interviewed amazing women, got her profile hosting gig and got married. I feel like we’re tight even though we’ve never met.

Last week she announced that she wrote the COVER ARTICLE of Allure, making it her third cover. This time she interviewed the amazing Serena Williams. I mean, power women or what?? Definitely check out the article. It’s beautiful. I wonder what she felt as she was driving to Serena Williams’ house. It gives me goosebumps.

I’m finally, confidently pursuing my passion for writing. Doing this blog everyday is making me so happy. I dream of developing a career out of this space and from my passion for words. When the shadows of doubt creep in on me, I think of Ashley and use her as my example to combat my fears. She’s talented and she’s doing it. She’s making it. She’s proof that it’s possible and for that I am so, so thankful.

Ashley, congratulations to you on all of your accomplishments. I’m so happy for you.
