The internet is a beautiful, magic place. Here are a few fun links for your reading pleasure…
I pretty much love anything David Sedaris writes and this essay (new yorker) is no exception. It lifted me out of the bad mood I felt coming on this morning. When he said Hugh locked him out of the house, I giggled out loud because Keith and I have our own idiosyncrasies and there’s nothing like company to highlight your crazy.
I really enjoyed this home tour (arch digest). I am really trying to work through my feelings about where I live. I don’t want to sound ungrateful, but man I feel cramped in our current home. I want space and views and all sorts of things. Sometimes it helps to look at home tours to dream, but sometimes it ignites my jealousy and I have to look away. This tour was a little bit of both for me, but it sure is pretty. I don’t want my jealousy to impact your ability to see its beauty. Plus, if I save it here, I can come back and read it again when I am in a better state of mind. 🙂
I was super tired reading about Alison Roman’s Thanksgiving (new york times). So much prep, but I was heartened reading about her tiny kitchen. We can make a life anywhere, right?
I loved this piece on grief and redecorating (glamour).
And for one final little giggle, a dog doing donuts (washington post).
